Marquetry Table
This client had the only requirement being “a round end table that was unique”. That gave me a lot of space for creativity. The round base of the table and legs are from sapele mahogany and ebony splines and accents. The marquetry tabletop is a complex and beautiful compilation of different woodworking techniques. Marquetry is a process of creating patterns and designs using thin veneers that fit together to form decorative flat surface images. With the client’s approval, I used a variety of exotic woods to create the patterns on the tabletop.
